An Indian national was injured after he fell when the cable of a zipline he was on at a resort in Kitaotao, Bukidnon snapped.
A video of several men carrying a person in a forested area has circulated on social media.
According to the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), the incident was confirmed later to have occurred at a resort in Barangay Sinuda, Kitaotao on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Based on investigation, the foreigner residing in Davao City was on a zipline at the resort when the cable snapped as he was nearing the other end of the line.
Police said the victim fell from an estimated height of 10 meters. Fortunately, he landed on an area affected by a minor landslide where the soil was soft.
“Nahulog kini around mga 10 meters and kalawom sa gihagbungan. Fortunately, nahagbong siya sa area nga adunay landslide gamay ug humok ang yuta,” PRO-10 Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.
The victim was brought to a hospital after sustaining injuries. He is now in stable condition and out of danger.
He has yet to issue a statement, as of this writing. Police are also awaiting his decision on whether or not he would file charges against the resort.
Meanwhile, the municipal government and the tourism department launched a separate investigation into the incident.
GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the resort for a statement, as of this writing.
“Nag-conduct ang LGU sa Kitaotao og ocular inspection ug safety assessment sa resort ug, right now, it has been declared nga temporarily closed,” Navarro said.
