Three fishermen were rescued after their motorbanca caught fire while fishing off Barangay Tulayan in Luuk, Sulu.
According to the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), personnel of the Coast Guard Station Eastern Sulu launced a rescue operation after receiving information about the distressed boat.
The fishermen are residents of Barangay Kanmindus.
The damaged vessel was towed to shore in Barangay Tandu Batuk.
Survivors said the fire was triggered by an explosion during refueling while the engine was still running.
Following the incident, authorities urged fishermen and all mariners to remain vigilant and prioritize safety at all times.
