Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, Jr. has urged national government agencies and local stakeholders to strengthen coordination to sustain and accelerate economic growth in Northern Mindanao.
Lagdameo said this during the Full Council Meeting of the Regional Development Council-Northern Mindanao (RDC-10) and RDC-10’s 2026 State of the Region Address (SORA) in Cagayan de Oro City on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., Lagdameo stressed that development efforts are most effective when national agencies, local government units, the private sector, and civil society work together.
"The President has consistently emphasized that growth must be felt by ordinary Filipinos. Economic gains are meaningful only when they translate into greater opportunities for every family," Lagdameo said.
Lagdameo added that RDCs are essential in ensuring that national priorities are aligned with the needs of local communities, in line with the administration’s vision of “Bagong Pilipinas.”
NORTHERN MINDANAO INFRASTRUCTURES
Meanwhile, Lagdameo highlighted key infrastructure projects that are expected to boost the region’s long-term competitiveness, including the modernization of Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental through a public-private partnership, the nearing completion of Bukidnon Airport, the rehabilitation of the Agus-Pulangi Hydropower Complex, the development of Sultan Naga Dimaporo Port, and the planned Central Mindanao High Standard Highway.
He said these projects demonstrate the impact of sustained collaboration between the government, private sector, and other partners in advancing regional development.
Lagdameo reiterated the administration’s commitment to the region’s priority programs and urged stakeholders to strengthen collaboration to improve the lives of the people in Northern Mindanao.
“As we move forward, let us continue to build on the gains we have achieved. Let us remain open to new ideas, strengthen our partnerships, and keep our focus on improving the lives of the people we have all been called to serve," Lagdameo said.
During the event, RDC-10 Chairperson, Henry Oaminal, presented the regio’s socio-economic performance, major accomplishments, development priorities, and other future programs.
During the meeting, other regional development concerns were discussed and outstanding government agencies and volunteers were recognized.
Through the Office of the Special Assistant to the President (OSAP), the administration also provided P10,000 each to 1,135 students as special financial assistance under the One Family, One Professional (OFOP) program.
