The City of Talisay in Cebu is not letting its guard down against dengue as rains have become more frequent in recent days.

Personnel of the Talisay City Health Office, barangay health workers, and other employees of the city government went around the city to remind residents to clean their surroundings, do away with stagnant water, and take other preventive measures against dengue.

They also reminded residents that anyone experiencing fever or other symptoms of dengue should seek medical consultation, even at barangay health centers.

Symptoms of dengue can manifest beetween four to 10 days after a mosquito bite. These may include the following:

  • Sudden, high fever (104°F or 40°C)
  • Severe headache
  • Pain behind the eyes
  • Joint, muscle, and bone pain
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Appearance of rashes

A misting operation followed the caravan.

The activity is more important, especially in Barangay Dumlog where eight suspected cases and one confirmed case of dengue were recorded from January to May 2026.
