A 16-year-old rider and his two passengers, 13 and 10 years old, died after their motorcycle crashed into a truck in Damulog, Bukidnon on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Based on investigation, the 16-year-old victim was driving the motorcycle, and they were heading toward the Poblacion area to fetch water when the accident happened.

Meanwhile, the truck carrying sugarcane was traveling toward the Barangay Anggaan proper.

Because of the impact, the motorcycle hit the rear tire of the truck, and the victims were run over.

“Sa kusog sa impact ang maong motorsiklo uban sa tulo ka menor de edad nabangga kini sila ngadto sa atras nga ligid sa maong truck diin ang mga biktima nabangil kini sila sa ligid,” Damulog Municipal Police Station Chief, Capt. Marlon Subrian, said.

Personnel from the Municpal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) responded to the area and brought the victims to a hospital, but the victims were declared dead.

The truck driver was taken into police custody but was released later after both parties reached an agreement.

The driver reportedly told police that the victims appeared to have been startled upon seeing his truck, which allegedly led to the collision.

The victims’ families have yet to issue a statement, as of this writing.

Following the incident, police reminded the public to take extra caution when traveling.

“Pahinumdom sa atong kapulisan sa Damulog nga mag-amping kita kanunay sa pagmaneho sa atong mga sakyanan ug motorsiklo labi na kung muagi kita sa mga kurbada o peligro nga kalsada ug ibutang kanunay sa atong huna-huna ug kasing-kasing nga ang kinabuhi bililhon kayo,” Subrian said.
