At least five pigs in the town of Barotac Viejo in Iloilo tested positive for the African Swine Fever (ASF).

The pigs have since died and buried before the result of the test came out on June 29, 2026, according to the Iloilo Provincial Veterinary Office.

As of this writing, the province has not limited the movement of pigs and pork products.

Cases were confirmed first in the capital Roxas City and in the towns of Panit-an and Pontevedra.

Iloilo and Capiz are located in Panay Island.

Across the sea in Negros Island, Bacolod City also recorded confirmed ASF cases following testing by the Department of Agriculture (DA)-6.

As of July 6, 2026, at least four confirmed cases of ASF from two barangays were logged in Bacolod.

Hog growers are reminded to disinfect their surroundings.
