Two police officers of the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13) are facing criminal and administrative charges for alleged adultery and misconduct.

In a statement, PRO-13 said the two, a policeman and a policewoman, are both married and active members of the organization.

PRO-13 said the two were allegedly caught by the husband of the policewoman engaging in a suspicious act inside a rented room in Barangay Bayanihan, Butuan City on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

“Hence the filing of a criminal act for adultery and an administrative case against both personnel for the act complained of,” PRO-13 said.

PRO-13 said it will not tolerate nor excuse any act that undermine the sanctity of marriage and the protection of family.

“As law enforcers, we are bound by a higher standard of morality, integrity, and discipline. We are expected to serve as role models in our communities and within our households living a life free from immoralities and uncalled acts which is equally required as continuous qualification in the service,” PRO-13 added.

PRO-13 Director, Brigadier General Marical Mariano Magistrado IV, assured the public that the administrative and criminal investigation into the incident will be conducted with full impartiality and transparency.

He added that no special treatment or leniency will be given to the personnel involved, and they will face both criminal and administrative sanctions, including dismissal from service, if found liable.

“Let this serve as a warning to all personnel of PNP Caraga: The leadership will not close its eyes on upon any immoral acts and any form of misconduct that will tarnish the badge and reputation of this organization. Anyone who opts to engage in similar or any act scandalous that will compromise the values that we swear to protect will be dealt with by full force of the law,” PRO-13 said.
