The Bureau of Customs (BOC) at the Port of Clark has intercepted four shipments containing suspected marijuana resin and high-grade marijuana, or "kush," with an estimated street value of more than P10 million.

The shipments originated from the United States and Thailand and were bound for recipients in Caloocan City, Valenzuela City, and Taguig City.

According to the BOC, the parcels were declared initially as "custom printed wedding photo," "letter notebook," and "used clothing" before they underwent X-ray screening, which led to the discovery of the suspected illegal drugs.

Samples of the substances seized were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for confirmatory laboratory examination.

The BOC has issued Warrants of Seizure and Detention against the four shipments for alleged violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

As of this writing, authorities are identifying those behind the shipments.
