A wing van truck crashed into an electric post in Barangay Mintal, Davao City, causing a power outage and water service interruption morning on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the incident happened at past 3 a.m.

The truck driver said he was traveling from Misamis Oriental to Bangkal, Davao City to deliver bread.

However, he allegedly lost control of the truck after applying the brakes while traveling downhill, which caused the truck to crash into an electric post.

The driver claimed that he did not doze off while driving and that he followed the speed limit implemented in the city.

No one was reported hurt in the incident, but affected areas in the barangay experienced power and water interruptions.

Personnel from the Davao Light and Power Co. (Davao Light) responded immediately.

The Davao City Water District (DCWD) also explained that the emergency power interruption affected the Tugbok Main Water Supply System and the Tugbok Production Wells.

Power and water services have since been restored in the areas affected.
