Residents in parts of Dagupan City have been dealing with daily flooding for nearly a week as high tide continues to inundate low-lying communities, local disaster officials said.

One of the hardest-hit areas is Purok 5 in Barangay Herrero-Perez, where houses near the Pantal River and a creek experience flooding almost every day.

According to residents, floodwaters usually begin rising at around 10 a.m. and subside by about 3 p.m.

Ester Bravo, one of the residents, said the repeated flooding is already affecting their homes.

"High tide na dito araw-araw sa amin. Palagi na lang nababasa ang paa namin. Pati itong bahay, masisira na," she said.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office's Public Alert Response and Monitoring Center (PARMC) said high tide remains the main cause of flooding in several parts of the city.

PARMC Chief Melykhen Bauzon said the city has been experiencing high tide since June and the condition may continue for several more months.

"Since pumasok ang June ay talagang nag-high tide na, and ito ay posibleng tumagal pa hanggang late October," Bauzon said.

Authorities said they continue to monitor the island barangays and communities along the Pantal River, which are among the areas most affected by the high tide.

"Kasama diyan ang Barangay Pantal, 'yung limang island barangay, Barangay 1, 2-3 at Pogo Chico," Bauzon added.

Officials said the tide level in Dagupan City reached nearly one meter on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Based on tide forecasts as of July 16, authorities expect tide levels to decrease gradually next week, but they advised residents in flood-prone areas to remain alert as high tide is expected to continue in the coming months.
