The Manaoag National High School in Pangasinan suspended face-to-face classes on Friday, July 17, 2026, and shifted to an Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) after an unverified social media post threatened a shooting at a school identified only as "MNHS."

In a school order issued by Principal IV Dr. Daisy S. Mayola, the suspension was described as a precautionary measure to protect the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and school personnel. Classes will continue through alternative learning activities while the situation is being assessed.

According to local authorities, the threat stemmed from a malicious Facebook post that did not specifically identify which "MNHS" it referred to. Despite the lack of confirmation, the school coordinated with law enforcement and other government agencies to ensure campus safety.

The Manaoag Police Station deployed officers to the school to conduct a security assessment and increase police visibility. Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office also responded.

Authorities said no security incident was recorded during the inspection. No one was injured, and no dangerous weapons were found inside the school. Police maintained a presence on campus while security protocols remained in effect.

The Philippine National Police is investigating the source of the social media post. Police also warned that creating and spreading online threats may carry criminal liability and said anti-cybercrime units are working to identify the person responsible.

School officials urged the public to remain calm, avoid sharing unverified information, and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
