Heavy rains caused flooding in several barangays in Antipas, Cotabato on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Floodwaters blocked the spillway along the Datu Agod-Marile Road in Barangay Datu Agod following heavy rains.

Residents can also be seen standing by the area to collect floating debris that got trapped along the spillway.

They also assisted motorists who were attempting to cross the flooded section.

Floodwaters also entered several houses by the road.

In Barangay Kiyaab, floodwaters covered the road, making it look like the sea.

Several motorists were also stranded in the area, while some houses were also submerged in floodwaters.

In Barangay Camutan, residents also experienced severe flooding after water levels in the creek rose in Sitio Camad.

A pig pen containing several pigs was submerged in floodwaters.

However, according to a resident, the pigs were immediately rescued.
Because of the incident, classes at all levels were suspended.

Authorities have started assessing the situation to determine the extent of damage.

State weather bureau PAGASA said the heavy rains experienced in the area were caused by a localized thunderstorm.
