A man was injured after the six-wheeler dump truck he was driving fell into the river when the bridge he was crossing in Barangay Camanga, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay gave way afternoon on Monday, July 20, 2026.

According to the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, the Tulay ng Pangulo bridge in Purok African Daisy collapsed around 3:10 p.m.

Police personnel responded immediately to the area.

Based on investigation, the truck, carrying around 16 cubic meters of gravel for a concreting project, was traveling to Barangay Camanga from Barangay Palomoc.

However, the bridge collapsed while the truck was crossing.

The driver sustained injuries and was brought to a hospital for treatment.

Access to the bridge has been closed off temporarily to both motorists and pedestrians while authorities assess the damage and restore the structure.
