The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has announced on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, that Vice President Sara Duterte has left for an overseas trip covering several countries, including Qatar, United Kingdom, and The Netherlands.
Duterte departed as her impeachment trial entered its seventh day.
In a statement, the OVP said Duterte’s trip includes a stop in Qatar, participation in a forum and a Filipino community (FilCom) gathering in the United Kingdom, as well as in The Netherlands.
The OVP added that the activities are intended to engage with overseas Filipinos and promote the country’s interest abroad.
The OVP also said Duterte’s itinerary includes both official engagements and personal activities and that no government funds will be used for the entire duration of the trip.
Despite Duterte’s absence, the OVP said it remains ready to respond to emergencies, with its disaster response mechanisms in place.
“The OVP will also continue the implementation of its programs and projects, carried out through its ten satellite offices nationwide,” the OVP said.
