Classes at a school in Barangay Panacan, Davao City were suspended on Friday, July 24, 2026, due to an alleged bomb threat.

Authorities inspected and, eventually, cleared the Vedasto F. Corcuera Elementary School in Malagmot.

Authorities said a mother who was picking up her child reportedly told the school guard that Vedasto F. Corcuera Elementary School was included in the list of schools with reported bomb threats.

The mother also informed a kagawad, who then alerted the police.

Police learned that the mother also received the information from a message shown to her by her neighbor on a cellphone.

Authorities are still investigating the incident to determine who or where the bomb threat originated.
