Three people were injured after the trailer truck they were riding fell into a creek amid heavy rains in Damulog, Bukidnon on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The truck was damaged after it overturned and fell into the creek from a bridge in Purok 1, Barangay Poco-Poco, Damulog town at past 3 p.m.
It took rescuers more than two hours to free the 31-year-old driver and his companions – a 28-year-old passenger and a minor – after they were trapped inside the vehicle.
Based on investigation, the truck was traveling to Cagayan de Oro City from Maasim, Sarangani when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle because of the slippery road.
The truck slammed into the bridge barrier before plunging into the creek.
“Kaning truck is transporting ni og several tons of pre-painted color-coated steel which na scatter no along sa river sa pagka-crash nila,” Bukidnon Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Capt. Shiela Joy Jangad, said.
The three were brought to a hospital for treatment and are now out of danger.
“So far sir wala pa nato nakuha ang sakyanan but ginagawan na og paraan sa atoang LGU coordinating with the PNP para makuha ang sakyanan didto (sa suba),” Jangad added.
Authorities continue to remind motorists to exercise extra caution while driving, especially during continuous rains when roads become slippery.
