A 21-year-old woman in Sibonga town in southern Cebu was stabbed dead by her ex-boyfriend allegedly for refusing to get back with the suspect.

The incident happened in Barangay Poblacion morning on August 1, 2026.

The victim was a resident of the area while the suspect, a college student, is a resident of another barangay.

Initial investigation by the Sibonga Police showed that the suspect visited the victim at the room the victim was renting with her younger sister. The younger sister was in the room when the suspect arrived but when she left, the suspect reportedly locked the room. 

The suspect reportedly urged the victim to get back with him but when the victim refused, the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her in different parts of her body. 

The suspect then allegedly aimed the knife on himself and stabbed himself in the neck and chest. He was brought to the hospital for treatment. 

Investigation into the incident continues, as of this writing.
