Two men were killed while another survived after a landslide buried an eatery in La Trinidad, Benguet morning on Thursday, August 6, 2026, as authorities evacuated nearby residents over fears of more soil movement.

Police said the landslide struck an eatery in Barangay Shilan, trapping three people beneath the debris.

Rescuers pulled one survivor from the rubble and rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment.

The two other victims were declared dead on arrival at the hospital, police said.

Authorities ordered the evacuation of residents living near the landslide site as a precaution against possible additional ground collapse.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) has coordinated with local authorities to provide assistance to the families of the victims.
