Two men allegedly involved in a shooting in Lanao del Norte that killed a bao-bao driver and his companion turned themselves in to authorities on Sunday evening, August 9, 2026.

Police identified the suspects as alias “Jam,” 31 and “Nor,” 30. They reportedly surrendered voluntarily with the help of barangay officials.

Authorities said the two suspects were allegedly linked to the shooting incident in Barangay Sugod, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, on August 7, 2026, which resulted in the deaths of alias “Jason,” 37, and “Bryan,” 22, both residents of Pagadian City.

Based on investigation, “Jason” was traveling to Lanao del Norte on board his bao-bao tricycle with another individual when the incident occurred. He was rushed to a medical facility but died later due to gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, the body of “Bryan” was recovered on August 8, 2026.

The two suspects were brought to the police station while authorities are preparing the charges to be filed before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation continues to determine the motive and other details surrounding the incident.

Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO) director, Col. Leo De Leon, lauded the operating units and barangay officials for their coordination, which resulted in the surrender of the suspects.

LDN PPO continues to urge the public to cooperate with authorities and report any information that may assist in the investigation and help maintain peace and security in the province.
