Heavy rain and flooding forced nearly 640 people to evacuate their homes in Nueva Ecija and Olongapo City, with emergency teams on standby as bad weather continued on Monday, August 10, 2026.

In Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija, flooding hit Barangays Sta. Lucia and Mayamot, forcing 47 families, or 122 people, to evacuate.

Floodwaters reached about five feet in Sitio Balumbong in Barangay Mayamot.

Emergency responders and rescue teams remained on standby across the province as rain continued.

In Olongapo City, 165 families, or 517 people, evacuated because of flooding caused by the southwest monsoon.

The river overflowed beneath the Del Rosario, Sta. Rita and Kalaklan bridges, affecting 11 barangays: Sta. Rita, East Bajac-Bajac, West Bajac-Bajac, Kababae, West Tapinac, East Tapinac, New Ilalim, New Banicain, Mabayuan, Old Cabalan and Lower Kalaklan.

Government offices also shifted to a work-from-home arrangement, except for personnel providing basic services, disaster response and health services.
