A 20-year-old farmer was found dead inside a sack by the road in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Residents discovered the victim’s decomposing body believed to have been dumped by the road in Barangay Langon shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Authorities identified the victim as a resident of San Jose, R.T. Lim. His hands were reportedly tied, and his body bore several hack wounds.

Based on investigation, the victim’s family said they had been looking for him since Friday after he left home and failed to return.

The victim’s remains were turned over to the family.

The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office is still investigating the incident to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the killing.

MAN FOUND DEAD IN MISOR

Meanwhile, a man was found dead with multiple stab wounds on his body in a property in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Police officers found the victim lifeless in Barangay Sta. Cruz shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday, August 10.

Police said the victim was a resident of Jasaan town and had reportedly been wandering around Tagoloan for several months.

Authorities have yet to identify the suspects but are already pursuing a possible motive behind the killing.

The victim’s remains have been turned over to his family, while police continue their investigation.

“Reportedly, kini nga individual allegedly aduna ta’y nakuha nga information nga ga-involve kini sa pagpamaligya ug iligal nga droga,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.
