Heavy rain continued to trigger landslides and damage roads in parts of Benguet on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

A slope protection structure collapsed along the Gov. Bado Dangwa National Road in Sitio Daclan in Tublay, prompting the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the local government to inspect the area and take action.

The Suyoc-Posos Provincial Road, which serves as an alternate route, also remained impassable because of a landslide. Authorities continued road clearing operations in the area.

Meanwhile, the DPWH Benguet 1st District Engineering Office worked to repair a damaged section of the Baguio-Bauang Road, also known as Naguilian Road, in Banangan, Sablan.

As a precaution, authorities closed the damaged section temporarily to large vehicles and lowered vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative conducted an outreach activity for families affected by the recent disasters. The group distributed clothes, blankets, food and water.

The local government and other agencies also continued to provide assistance to families who lost relatives in the landslide in Barangay Guisad Surong, Baguio City.

A post-disaster assessment by the city government found that 216 families in Baguio had been affected by Tropical Storm Maymay and the southwest monsoon.
