A 45-year-old man linked to a bombing incident and the killing of members of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) in Sultan Kudarat was arrested on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Police said the suspect identified as alias “Tarzan” was arrested in Barangay Udtong, Lambayong town.

He was tagged as the Philippines’ most wanted person with a P145,000 bounty offered for his arrest.

Police said the arrest was carried out through warrants for violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 (RA 11479) and two counts of murder. The court did not allow the suspect to post bail.

Authorities said the anti-terrorism case stemmed from the bombing incident at a public terminal in Barnagay Kalawag, Isulan town on April 17, 2023, that left several individuals injured, including three minors 15, 14, and 13 years old.

The suspect was also identified as among those linked to the killing of a 41-year-old BPAT member in Lambayong town on April 7, 2021, and a 60-year-old BPAT member in the same town on July 17, 2021.

Police said the suspect alleged resisted arrest and engaged the operating team in a brief confrontation during the service of warrants. He sustained a gunshot wound and was brought to a hospital for treatment.

Recovered from his possession was caliber 9mm pistol.

“Acts of terrorism and murder strike at the very foundation of public safety and human life. Those who stand accused of such grave offenses cannot expect to remain beyond the reach of the law—the PNP will find them, arrest them, and bring them before the courts,” PNP Chief, General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said.

“Ang terorismo at pagkitil ng buhay ay kabilang sa pinakamabibigat at pinakamapanganib na krimen. Walang lugar sa lipunan ang mga taong sangkot sa ganitong karumal-dumal na gawain—sisiguraduhin nating haharap sila sa batas at mananagot sa kanilang mga ginawa,” he added.
