Two police officers may face charges after they allegedly harassed two female criminology interns sexually inside a police station in Cagayan de Oro City.

Authorities said the suspects are a police captain and a police corporal who were assigned to Police Station 7 in Barangay Bulua.

The details of the incident have not been disclosed, but Professional Criminologist Association of the Philippines (PCAP) President Gerry Caño confirmed the incident.

Caño said he has already spoken with the two female victims, both 21 years old. The incident allegedly happened on August 8, 2026.

“Isip miyembro associate members nato sa PCAP atong gipangutana ang detalye sa panghitabo ug ilang gi hatag ang maong mga detalye diin adunay gyud sexual harassment nga nahitabo,” Caño said.

Caño added that he was disappointed by the incident as the two suspects are also members of PCAP.

“Ang PCAP mag-initiate sa legal action para matanggalan sa lisensiya,” Caño added.

According to the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) and the Internal Affairs Office have already launched an investigation into the incident.

The suspects have also been disarmed and are currently under the Personnel Holding and Accounting Section of COCPO.

“Seryoso kini nga alegasyon ato nakita nga it will fall sa grave misconduct sa administrative nga kaso kabalo kita pag grave misconduct ang pinaka bug-at nga penalty ana is dismissal from the PNP service,” PRO-10 Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.

PCAP also said it will coordinate with PRO-10 in filing administrative cases against the two police officers.
