A motorcycle parked near a gym in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, was stolen casually on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

The incident was caught on camera.

CCTV footage shows a man walking by the road before looking back and returning to the parked motorcycles.

He then took one of the motorcycles, rode away, and fled the area.

The motorcycle stolen belongs to a 49-year-old cooperative collector.

According to the victim, Andy Miñoza, he parked the motorcycle while he went to pick something up.

He said he forgot to remove the key from the motorcycle, which allowed the thief to take it easily.

“Nahibung naman ko kay moulit naman unta ko. Nangita kog yawi dali-dali kog gawas sos hasta akong motor nawala naman sad apil,” Miñoza said.

The victim has reported the incident to the police, who conducted a follow-up operation. However, the suspect had not yet been arrested, as of this writing.

Miñoza appealed to the person who took his motorcycle to return it, saying that he relies heavily on it for his work.

“Maghangyo ko may untag iuli na lang to niya oi, makonsensya to siya. Bahala aha niya ibilin basta mauli lang,” Miñoza added.

Authorities learned that three motorcycle theft incidents had occurred in the area, prompting them to warn the public to remain vigilant.

“Vigilant lang ta sa atong mga butang kay kita ra sad gyuy bantayan sa mga perpetrators, sa mga kawatan,” chief tanod, Christie Real, said.

Meanwhile, the city government has directed the police to intensify regular foot patrols and police visibility to prevent criminals from victimizing the public.

“Atong gihangyo atong kapolisan nga ang baruganan sa mayor is to perform your task. It’s not just to monitor and not just to watch sa atong CCTV footage but to make sure nga madakpan gyud ang mga hingtungdan. Otherwise mogara ning mga criminal elements sa atong katilingban,” Mayor’s Office Chief of Staff, Kenneth Siasar, said.
