Families of individuals who perished in the onslaught of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) ten years ago visited the mass grave of their loved ones in Barangay Basper, Tacloban City, Leyte.

Congregations such as the Religious Sisters of Mercy have done their yearly offering of prayers for the people who died in the tragedy and those who continue to be missing.

At the memorial park chapel, a Holy Mass was also celebrated in memory of over 6,000 individuals who died in one of the world's catastrophic tropical storms.

The whole of Tacloban City has carried out various candle-lighting rites.

It has already become an annual practice for barangays to initiate a candle-lighting as a commemoration.

At the Plaza Rizal, electronic candles were lit taking after the pattern of a Holy Cross.

Volunteers were also spotted returning to the city to participate in the commemoration.
