Authorities have confiscated illegal drugs worth over P500,000 in a series of anti-illegal drug operations in Naga City and Camarines Sur on November 9, 2023.
These efforts aim to lessen potential criminal activities and illegal transactions in anticipation of the upcoming holiday season.
In Barangay Balatas, Naga City, a 43-year-old woman was arrested during a buy-bust operation, resulting in the seizure of approximately 20 grams of illegal drugs worth P52,000.
PSMS Tobias Bongon III, spokesperson of the Naga City Police Office (NCPO), said, "According to the authority, na-vary po daa ang kantidad depende na sa quality. Depende na sa purity kang ilegal drugs. Mas puro, mas halangkaw ang kantidad."
On the same day, a 37-year-old street-level drug personality in Pili, Camarines Sur, was also arrested with approximately P34,500 worth of suspected shabu.
The suspect, a resident of Barangay Sta. Elena, Bula, was arrested during a transaction in Barangay La Purisima, Pili.
PCapt. Rodel Realo, Deputy Chief of Police of the Pili Municipal Police Station, said, "Nagtatrabaho siya sa saro digdi sa kompanya digdi sa Pili. Driver po siya. May nakapagpaabot po samuya ning bareta na saro po ini na nagbebenta ning illegal drugs."
In a separate operation the night before, authorities arrested a drug personality from Barangay Matacla, Goa, in Iriga City. The suspect was found in possession of 17 sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P442,000.
"Malaking halaga yung P400,000. Maraming mga kabataan maraming mga tao ang pwedeng malulong. Malaking tulong na nahuli siya kasi kung hindi natin siya nahuli dito sa Iriga, marami pa yung talagang mapagbebentahan niya ng ipinagbabawal na gamot," said PCapt. In light of these developments, authorities are urging the public to cooperate by providing valuable information to help prevent drug-related crimes and maintain security during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.
