The Bureau of Internal Revenue's (BIR) Calasiao District Office has issued closure orders against nine establishments for allegedly failing to declare their accurate income.

The discrepancies were identified from records spanning from January 2023 until November 2023.

The BIR scrutinized businesses before implementing closure orders. This stern action follows the closure of two shopping centers in September 2023 due to sales suppression, where only half of the total income was declared.

The BIR intensifies its Oplan Kandado, a program aimed at closing down establishments not complying with tax regulations. The agency continues its Point of Sale (POS) readings to identify businesses that may not have accurately reported their total income over the past three years.

Camba added, "Pumupunta kami sa business establishments na mayroong mga registered POS CRM machine, ngayon we are equipped with a mission order so hihingin namin sa taxpayer 'yung kanilang reading yung POS reading ibig sabihin 'yung nakastorage na data."
