<p>A 100-year-old tree near the City Health Office in Legazpi City has collapsed, causing damage to a telecommunications pole, utility lines, a bench, and the fence of the City Hall. </p><p>The tree also hit a waiting shed, and a bicycle and a car parked in the area. Because of its massive size, the tree almost blocked the road.</p><p>Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. </p><p>Alex Madraso who was present at the scene said, "Nagrarak yan, pagraak nagdulag na ako paduman 'ta pababa na, maaboton na ngane ako."</p><p>"Pasalamat kami ta nangyari, wara ka kami digdi," said Anabelle Millena.</p><p>Eddie Mirabete added, "Maray ngane 'ta dae man para-tricycle na nakaparada 'ta kung may nakaparada ay remate."</p><p>Authorities were quick to clear the area where the tree fell. They are now inspecting other trees in the city to prevent a similar incident from happening. </p><p>Prior to the incident, the Task Force Kaayusan at Kalinigan has suggested removing trees that are safety hazards but the special status of the tree that fell has prevented its removal. </p><p>Andy Marbella, chief of Task Force Kaayusan at Kalinigan, explained, "Mahihiling ta po yan sa mga gamot po ano – prone yan sa mga burubagyo ta an gamot kaan sa ibabaw, dae man talaga naguguot arug kan Narra."</p><p> </p>
