Floodwater rose to about 25 feet in the lowest level and 10 feet in the highest level sending 2,715 families or 9,913 individuals to evacuation centers in the Municipality of Jipapad, Eastern Samar Province on November 21, 2023.

Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Vicky Abestros called on help for the evacuees from 13 barangays who need food, potable water, medicines, among other necessities.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Heavy rainfall persisted since November 18, 2023.

The rain was brought about by the shear line, a weather system affecting the Visayas regions.

Meanwhile, residents in Barangay Cabarian, Pambujan town, Northern Samar were also evacuated to safer ground on November 21, 2023.

Personnel of Pambujan Municipal Police Station under the supervision of Police Captain Rencis Timan, officer in charge, assisted the evacuation procedure.
