Relief operations in the Province of Northern Samar are in full sail.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development 8 distributed 10,000 food packs in Catarman, one of the municipalities affected severely by the relentless rains.

Family packs contained rice, canned meat and sardines, coffee, and milk cereal said to be sufficient for a family of five for one-to-three days.

In addition to food supplies, both the Provincial Government and the DSWD distributed non-food items such as  hygiene kits.

Governor Edwin Ongchuan announced resumption of work in all public offices and private establishments beginning November 23, 2023.

However, classes in all levels for both public and private schools are still cancelled until November 24, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Office of Civil Defense 8 called on help for the family of responders.

Members of response teams have to leave their families to facilitate rescue operations.

But since their families are also victims of the calamity, they also need assistance.

Any form of help will be accepted at the OCD 8 office and at Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices.
