A call center agent was arrested in an entrapment operation for allegedly blackmailing his ex-girlfriend.

The entrapment operation carried out by the Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Unit 7 is based on a complaint of a woman on her former boyfriend who asked for a reconciliation.

When she turned the request down, the man allegedly threatened to put up a tarpaulin of her nude photographs and their intimate messages via a chat application.

The man reportedly said he would put up the tarpaulin at the vicinity of the woman’s workplace and at a basketball court near the woman’s residence.

The 32-year-old man is a resident of Plaridel Street, Barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City and works as a call center agent.

Charges for violation of Article 286 of the Revised Penal Code or grave coercion, Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004, and RA 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 will be filed against the suspect.

He refused to give a statement to members of the media.
