The top official of the Police Regional Office-12 (PRO-12) has ordered his men to fast track the investigation into the death of a member of Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) in Pikit, North Cotabato.

CAFGU member, John Rey Cabuga was shot dead beside the Datu Dalandag National High School in Barangay Manaulanan on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Police said an unidentified gunman suddenly appeared and shot the victim. Recovered from the crime scene were six pieces of caliber .45 cartridge cases.

The Pikit Municipal Police Station coordinated with the military to launch a comprehensive dragnet and hot pursuit operation for the possible apprehension of the suspect.

PBGen. Jimili L Macaraeg reassures the public that every effort will be made to swiftly resolve this case and bring the responsible person to account for this senseless act. He then also expressed his profound condolences to the grieving family.

“I extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Cabuga. PRO12 assures that swift and thorough investigation will be conducted to identify the suspect and ensure that justice will be served,” PRO-12 Director, Brigadier General Jimili Macaraeg, said.
