A special investigation task group (SITG) has been formed to fast track the probe on the explosion at the Mindanao State University-Marawi Campus that killed four people and wounded more than 10 others over the weekend.

The Police Regional Office - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BARMM) said security measures in Marawi City will be intensified while the SITG expedites the investigation.

Combined forces of the military and police have beefed up its focused intelligence and law enforcement operations after a full alert status was raised.

Government forces are also coordinating with other agencies to identify and bring those responsible persons behind the bombing to justice.

“We condemn this senseless and inhumane act of terror done to these innocent civilians. We will exert all our efforts to have those perpetrators be liable for this crime”, PRO-BARMM Director, Brigadier General Allan Nobleza, said.

“We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and sympathy to the wounded”, he added.
