A waiter in Daet, Camarines Norte was shot while attending to customers at the cafe he was working at past 7 p.m. on December 2, 2023. 

The assailant reportedly entered the cafe casually and even mingled with other customers before shooting the waiter from behind. 

The victim was rushed to the hospital and survived the attack. Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive of the shooting.

As of December 4, 2023, police said they have identified persons of interest in the case.

"Nagkaroon po kami ng series of follow-up operation at hot pursuit dito sa mga person of interest na lumabas sa investigation namin, and then nakakuha kami ng mga information at mga picture nung nagma-match dun sa description," said PLTCol. Bon Billy Timuat, Officer-in-Charge of Daet MPD.

The police urged citizens, especially those who may have witnessed the incident, to cooperate and provide any information that may help solve the case.

"Kami po ay nananawagan sa mga mamamayan lalong lalo na dun sa mga nakakita ng insidente na kung sakali sana makipagtulungan sa amin para mabigyan kami ng magandang information na makakatulong po sa ating investigation," Timuat said.
