A 72-year-old man died when a wing van truck hit the jeep he was driving in San Pascual, Batangas.

The incident happened as the jeep was crossing the intersection at the bypass road in Barangay Palsahingin.

CCTV footage showed that the jeep was crossing the intersection slowly together with other vehicles when the truck arrived at top speed. 

"May kabilisan itong truck at hindi niya [na]sukat... [hindi niya] akalain na ito pala'y kantuhan… medyo kurbada kasi ito ma'am, Palsahingin papunta ng Bauan, at napabilis takbo ng truck," said PMaj. Ernie Delos Santos, chief of the San Pascual Police Station.

The man was brought to the hospital but died moments later. 

The suspect is in police custody and is facing charges.

"Ang pagbi-biyahe ay hindi kailangang tulinan natin lalo na sa pagdi-drive... kailangan may anticipation na kung saan kapag nakita natin ang kantuhan na ganiyan ay medyo mag-menor tayo dahil minsan merong natawid na hindi mapapansin," Delos Santos said.
