A fetus, estimated to be between five to six months old, was found floating in a creek that traverses Barangay Balatas and San Felipe in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
A resident in the area by the name of Totoy found the fetus around 7 a.m on December 8, 2023. He thought initially that it was trash inside a plastic bag.
He reported the find immediately to authorities.
"Nag-atong po, paduman po sa may alon po. Tapos pagkaduman po sa puro, dae ko na po nahiling," he said.
"Fetus pa, nasa kuyan pa inulnan pa sa ina na naggibo kaiyan na kuyan man sana maglantad siya ta herak man itong umboy na arog kaiyan dae man lang natawan nin buhay," Ruben Siso, a barangay tanod, said.
The fetus was brought to the Our Lady of Lourdes Infirmary in Barangay Carolina for examination.
Authorities are investigating who may have left the fetus and for possible witnesses.
