A green sea turtle found entangled in a fish trap off the coast of Manito, Albay, was rescued by environmental authorities.

The turtle, measuring 93 cm in length, 83 cm in width, and weighing around 60 kilograms, was turned over to a Forest Protection Officer. It was then released back to sea after confirming it was in good health.

Engr. Jerry Arena, PENR Officer of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), expressed appreciation for the local community's awareness of wildlife conservation efforts in the area.

"It's good na yung information dissemination campaign natin sa area na yan medyo malawak na at saka matagal na kaya medyo aware na yung ating mga community there in Manito particular doon sa mga wildlife natin," Arena said.

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) urged the public, especially those residing in coastal areas, to continue supporting DENR programs aimed at protecting and conserving marine life.
