One dead and nine others were injured after a passenger jeep and a dump truck collided in Barangay San Nicolas 2nd, Lubao, Pampanga.

According to authorities, the dump truck, which was heading to Bataan, lost its brakes and collided with the passenger jeep, which was heading to San Fernando City. 

"Pagdating sa place of occurrence, allegedly itong dump truck ay nawalan ng kontrol, umikot siya hanggang sa nabangga itong incoming passenger jeepney na nag-result sa multiple physical injuries," PLTCOL Dederick Relativo, Chief of Lubao Police Station, said.

The injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

"Lubao Municipal police investigators are already conducting necessary documentation for filing of cases," Relativo added.

The driver of the dump truck is in police custody and is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.

The driver did not comment on the incident.
