Two more victims in the fire that hit a pyrotechnic manufacturing factory in Barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City on December 11, 2023 have passed away, bringing to eight the number of fatalities.

The Lapu-Lapu City Police told GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak that the latest fatalities were Justin Amores who died evening on December 14, 2023, and Julito Inoc who passed away morning that day.

Amores and Inoc were among the six who were brought to the hospital.

As of this writing, only Joanna Berdin remains in the hospital. Her husband, Rodneil, was discharged on December 14.

The ones who died when the fire broke out were Sixto Berdin, the owner; Gwendolyn Berdin Lucero; Christian Monsanto; and Argie Escobia. The following day, six-year-old Renren Berdin passed away. The day after, Jade Rasonable died.

The fire was caused by an ignited pyrotechnic product identified as a "bombshell."

The four initial fatalities were found trapped in a warehouse of pyrotechnics supplies where a manufacturer of firecrackers operated.
