A dump truck crashed into a motorcycle shop along the highway in Barangay Taysan, San Jose, Batangas after its driver fell asleep behind the wheel.

Unfortunately, a family of street dwellers sleeping outside the shop was hit in the process, leaving the father dead and two other members injured.

The impact also left the storefront in ruins.

Investigators found out that the dump truck first collided with a tow truck that was parked by the road.

The driver of the tow truck said the dump truck was traveling at high speed and just swerved in his direction. The tow truck driver also sustained injuries.

Hazel Luma-Ang Suarez, Chief of the San Jose Police Station, said.

The driver of the dump truck and his companion allegedly fled the scene immediately after the incident. They are being pursued as of this writing.
