A seven-year-old girl died after a 14-year-old boy hit her head with stone in Barangay Digkilaan, Iligan City.

Police said the boy reportedly owned up to the crime after he was placed under arrest.

Authorities said a man allegedly ordered the boy to kill the girl otherwise it would be him who would be killed, so it appeared that the boy was left with no other choice.

“According sa statement sa minor, ang katong nagsugo niya, kung dili daw niya mapatay ang bata, siya kuno’y patyon. So, murag wala siya’y choice, dayon naa pud murag (problema sa pamilya) ang party sa nagsugo ug katong sa bata na minor,” Iligan City Police Office Spokesperson, Major Zandrex Panolong, said.

Investigators have yet to establish the motive as probe is still ongoing, as of this writing.

“Ang iyang revelation is gibundakan daw niya og bato ang ulo pero nakita man gud nako, naa’y mga samad sa hait ba... ato ra gyud expert from the forensic unit ang maka-determine sa cause of death,” Panolong said.

The boy has been placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for intervention.
