Around 300 houses were razed to the ground after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Tugbungan, Zamboanga City before midday on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Authorities said the fire spread quickly as most of the houses were made of light materials.
The local government said seven individuals are undergoing treatment after experiencing difficulty in breathing.
Response teams and firefighters responded to the area to put out the fire.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is investigating the cause of the incident, as of this writing.
