A 65-year-old woman was beheaded by her neighbor in Agusan del Sur allegedly over a grudge.
The incident took place inside the woman’s store in Barangay Cayanugan, Bayugan City midday on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
The suspect used a bolo to behead the victim.
Bayugan Police chief, Lt. Col. Shalom Faye Cornelio tells GMA Regional TV One Mindanao that the 48-year-old suspect, Mario Fortun, allegedly held a grudge against the victim because the woman called him a thief.
Fortun has been arrested.
Police said Fortun is a respondent in other cases, including alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
