It was once again a masterful year for media giant GMA Network after showcasing dominance in ratings and awards, both online and on-air, for Full Year 2023 - further solidifying its position as the Philippines’ leading and most trusted network.

According to audience insights firms Nielsen TV Audience Measurement (TAM), Nielsen Radio Audience Measurement (RAM), and Tubular Labs data, GMA Network continues to be the country’s leader in viewership and engagement.

GMA, together with GTV and its digital channels I Heart Movies, Heart of Asia, Pinoy Hits, and Hallypop, had a consolidated people net reach of 94 percent, for an estimated sum of 73 million viewers all across the Philippines - based on Nielsen TAM ratings data from January to November 2023.

GMA, the Kapuso Network’s main channel, maintained nationwide dominance in terms of total reach with a whopping 93% share, accounting for almost 72 million viewers.

Most watched and most trusted news provider

GMA Integrated News (GMAIN)’s flagship newscast “24 Oras,” replicated its status as the most watched TV program in all of Philippines in 2023 after garnering a 14.7 percent rating, as per numbers obtained by Nielsen TAM.

GMAIN, the Kapuso Network’s news body, was also given recognition multiple times by various award-giving institutions for its continuous excellence and commitment to public service, such as the Philippine Quill Awards, ANAK TV Seal Awards, and the Society of Publishers in Asia Awards - further cementing its status as the “News Authority ng Filipino.”

Aside from “24 Oras,” seven other GMA programs were in Total Philippines’ top 10 most watched for 2023: “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” “Voltes V: Legacy,” “Black Rider,” “The Voice Generations,” “The Clash 2023,” “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis,” and “Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento.”

GMA Network’s Superb Reach via Regional TV and Synergy

GMA Regional TV (RTV) continued to serve its purpose well in 2023, delivering responsible, unbiased, and relevant news to a wider Filipino audience with 12 regional stations all across the Philippines - the latest being the March 2023-established GMA Ilocos Norte.

At present, GMA operates a total of 106 total TV stations and 21 radio stations throughout the country, with no plans of slowing down this 2024 as it continues to ensure that more Filipinos are able to benefit from superior entertainment and quality journalism.

Award-winning GMA Regional Channels persist in delivering timely and localized news. Together with the award-winning newscast “Regional TV News” on GTV, “One Northern Luzon” (in North Central Luzon), “Balitang Southern Tagalog” (in Southern Tagalog), “Balitang Bicolandia” (in Bicol Region), “Balitang Bisdak” (in Central and Eastern Visayas), “One Western Visayas” (in Western Visayas), and “One Mindanao” (in Northern, Southern, South Central, and Western Mindanao) continue to be the Filipino’s everyday source of news and information, solidifying GMAIN’s status as the “News Authority of the Filipino.”

The Kapuso fans were also treated with bigger and more exciting Kapuso Fiestas, mall shows, and regional events as GMA RTV intensified its efforts to bring more fun and mobilize more participation in the regions.

GMA Regional TV, together with GMA Regional TV News, also strengthened its digital presence with an all-improved and more intensified operation of its social media platforms from Facebook and Instagram, to X and Tiktok. It continues to function as the gateway for Filipinos from the regions to watch and consume quality content from the Kapuso Network.

GMA Synergy, the Network’s arm that handles sports production and partnerships, events, and other initiatives, had a fruitful 2023 as well. Synergy was responsible for the highly successful and jam-packed “Queendom: LIVE,” as well as the multi-awarded GMA Masterclass Series that has brought inspiration and information to students and members of the academe all over the Philippines.

With a more extensive collaboration with different departments within GMA, Synergy will continue to produce world-class concerts and sports entertainment this 2024, particularly as it gears up for the centennial anniversary season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Strengthened Digital Presence

With an ever-expanding technologically advanced world, the Network has also made successful digital ventures in 2023. Its vast audience reach and engagement has allowed for more accessible and available information to the public.

According to Tubular Labs, total online viewership numbers for all GMA online properties reached 26.9 billion (Facebook) and 8.9 billion (Tiktok) from January to December 2023, a couple billion views more than that of ABS-CBN’s, which got 20.8 billion views on Facebook and 7.9 on TikTok.
