The dry season in the Philippines has become harder to ignore. Between scorching afternoons, long commutes, sudden weather shifts, and vacation schedules, many Filipinos are simply trying to push through the heat while keeping up with daily life.
For Cebu-grown wellness brand ImmuniPlus, that reality has shaped how it wants people to see the product — not as something kept in the medicine cabinet for emergencies but as an everyday companion for life on the go.
“People still travel, go on outings, and spend time outdoors despite the heat,” Jose Aaron Roska Espina, Chief Executive Officer of Immuni Global Inc., said.
“We want ImmuniPlus to be something people bring with them every day… in their beach bags, gym pouches, or travel kits,” he added.
HEAT-READY, IMMUNI-STEADY
Made with ginger, turmeric, spirulina, and moringa, ImmuniPlus is positioned as a wellness drink that fits naturally into everyday routines, especially during the intense summer months when fatigue and discomfort from the heat become common concerns.
According to Espina, many consumers describe the drink as “cooling” and refreshing, particularly when served cold or mixed with ice water.
“That refreshing feeling is something people notice right away… It doesn’t feel like medicine. It feels like something you’d actually want on a hot summer day,” he said.
The company said this experience has helped position ImmuniPlus beyond traditional wellness products often associated only with sickness. Instead, the brand is leaning into more lifestyle-driven moments — before a swim, after a long drive, during a family outing, or even after hours spent commuting under the summer heat.
Espina said the goal is to encourage a more proactive approach to wellness rather than waiting until people already feel unwell.
“Filipinos are resilient and always push through,” he said.
“But we also want to remind people to take care of themselves consistently, not only when they’re already exhausted,” he added.
BETTER SIP THAN SORRY
The shift comes as extreme heat and unpredictable weather continue to affect daily routines across the country. While summer has traditionally been associated with vacations and outdoor activities, rising temperatures have also made fatigue, dehydration, and physical stress more noticeable for many Filipinos.
Espina said these conditions influenced how the company developed and positioned the product, particularly the idea of combining familiar Filipino wellness ingredients with a more convenient and accessible format.
ImmuniPlus traces its roots to Cebu, where the company started with four pharmacy branches in 2021. Today, the brand has grown to more than 2,000 outlets nationwide.
The company also highlighted its support for Filipino farmers by sourcing ingredients from rural and coastal communities.
For us, it’s important that the product is made by Filipinos, for Filipinos,” Espina said.
Alongside its original variant, the brand also introduced a cocoa-based option, which the company described as another wellness choice for consumers looking for variety in their daily routines.
Espina added that younger Filipinos are becoming increasingly conscious about wellness and lifestyle habits, although brands still need to show how these products can fit naturally into modern routines.
“Traditional ingredients like ginger and turmeric are already familiar to many households,” he said.
“What we’re trying to do is make them easier to bring into everyday life,” he added.
(DON’T) BREAK A SWEAT
In a season defined by heat, movement, and constant motion, ImmuniPlus is trying to carve out a moment of ease Filipinos can return to.
Not tied to illness or urgency, but to everyday life under the sun: the long drives, the sudden trips, the afternoons that feel heavier than expected.
