A 16-year-old athlete from Tibag, Tarlac City, bagged nine gold medals and three silver medals across various categories at the 2024 Asian Open School Invitational Swimming Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

Triza Tabamo, a Grade 11 student of Sto. Cristo Integrated School, won in the following categories:

GOLD:
100 Meters Backstroke
100 Meters Butterfly
100 Meters Freestyle
200 Meters Freestyle
400 Meters Freestyle
50 Meters Freestyle
50 Meters Butterfly
50 Meters Backstroke
200 Meters Individual Medley
4 x 50 Meters Freestyle Relay

SILVER:
4x50 Meters Medley Relay
4x50 Meters Medley Relay Mixed

Tabamo, who discovered her passion for swimming at the age of six, attributed her success to her parents, coaches, and all those who supported her journey to compete at the international level.

She's currently a member of the Tarlac City Waves Swimming Club.

Her message to aspiring athletes:

"My advice to you is to just keep swimming. I know the tides are high, and it’s low, and there [will] be a lot of challenges ahead of you, but as long as you keep swimming, you’ll sail your way to your dream destination," she said.
