Philippine cyclist Simon Servillon emerged as the overall male open champion at the 2025 Singapore Open Enduro in Bukit Timah, Singapore.

The Davao City native reigned supreme after finishing with an impressive time of 10:09.02 to top the event.

“The only thing that I have in my mind during every race is just simple and straightforward, and it is just to win. It doesn't matter what it takes,” Servillon told GMA Regional TV News.

Dicky Hermawan of Indonesia placed second who completed the race in 10:13.70 while Singapore’s Arfan Faisal rounded out the top three with a time of 10:24.80.

“I loved every second of the race here in Singapore, but my favorite part was when I was going up to the podium and shouting my nation,” he added.

Training in Davao’s trails and tracks helped Servillano edge racers not just coming from Southeast Asia but also from Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, to name a few.

“During the offseason, I do a lot of endurance training and just ride a lot in my hometown,” Servillano said.

But the path to Singapore was not easy-peasy at all. He bared that financial struggles hounded his campaign.

“The main thing that I was struggling with is financial support for racing and for my nutrition every training,” he shared.

Last December 2024, Servillon also notched gold in the UCI National Enduro Championships held in Guimaras Island.

Servillon looks forward to continuing his winning ways as he is about to join local races in Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan on February 9 and in General Santos City on February 15 to 16.

Meanwhile, Kirk Ravynn Baradas of team Ilo-ilo Philippines clocked 10:54.57 to top the male u-17 category and finish seventh in the overall rankings with a total of 142 racers competing.

Fellow Filipino cyclists Charlie Nipal and Bayani Dario placed second and third in the male masters category with a time of 11:13.33 and 11:13.59, respectively.
