University of Perpetual Help System DALTA rising stars JD Pagulayan, Jericho Cristino, Aries Borja, and Kelsey Baldoria from its juniors team have committed to bolster the seniors squad, reads a report by GMA Integrated News' Bea Micaller.
The four have confirmed they are playing their college careers with the ALTAs in hopes to replicate their success after steering the Junior ALTAs to a historic Season 100 title.
Pagulayan was the Junior ALTAs' third leading scorer behind MVP Lebron Jhames Daep and Mythical Five member Jan Roluna, posting averages of 11.38 points, 4.69 rebounds, and 2.08 assists to end his high school run as a champion.
The 19-year-old forward will reunite with his former high school teammate Mark Gojo Cruz in the seniors ranks.
Meanwhile, the 6-foot-3 Cristino showed a lot of promise in their previous title run that saw him bagging the Most Improved Player after jumping from 76th in Season 99’s player rankings to 14th this year. Known for his shooting touch and versatility, Cristino is expected to make an immediate impact.
The ALTAs also secured their front court future with the commitment of the big man duo Borja and Baldoria, both expected to bring size and energy to head coach Olsen Racela’s rotation. The pair joins a promising frontline that includes JP Boral, Emman Pizzaro, and Jearico Nuñez.
While the quartet have already made their decisions, Roluna and main point guard Icee Callangan have yet to make theirs.
