Letran enters the NCAA Season 100 women’s volleyball finals anew with a 3-0 ouster of Arellano on Tuesday, June 3, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan City.

It was not a walk in the park for the Lady Knights despite their victory ending in a sweep– 30-28, 25-12, 25-21– as they needed to power through an extensive first set, and had to pull off a mini-comeback in the third.

After being down 13-16, the Oliver Almadro-mentored squad went on a 5-0 run to regain the lead and their confidence, never allowing the Lady Chiefs to retaliate until the winning buzzer.

Vanessa Sarie and Judiel Nitura lived up to their billing as the number one and two-ranked scorers in NCAA S100 women’s volleyball, forming a one-two punch tandem that connived for 32 points with the latter earning the best player honors.

Nitura, also Season 100’s best server, top-scored for Letran with 17 points on 15 attacks and two blocks, while the Bicolana super rookie added 15 attack points.

They will face the three-time defending champions Benilde Lady Blazers in the finals– a chance at redemption against their Season 99 tormentors.
